Sylvie has an M.A. in Professional Counseling from Olivet Nazarene University (USA). Sylvie has received training in the areas of suicide prevention and stress management through ICISF. She is also trained in assisting individuals in crisis and group crisis intervention that covers trauma treatment. As a counselor, she has worked with individuals struggling with anxiety and depression due to workplace bullying, the transition from another country to Hong Kong, relational pressures due to a generational gap with parents.

Sylvie’s training also extends to working with couples for premarital counseling, marital struggles due to infidelity, or parenthood. She has training in Emotionally-Focused Couple Therapy (EFT), as well as Emotionally-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). She is also part of the Connecting With Kids team—teaching parents, caregivers and anyone who works with children the importance of emotion coaching. Sylvie has received training in Elijah House Ministry therefore she is able to incorporate prayer into her therapy sessions.

Sylvie has a heart for people in need since she was a young girl. Even at the age of 8, you could find her sitting and listening intently as a way to connect with others. She grew up in Canada where many different cultural backgrounds. She would befriend people of all different races, ages, gender and economical backgrounds. It was this foundation that shaped her to become a counselor.

Sylvie is able to conduct services in both English and Cantonese.
